Our therapeutic approach
At HCC, we believe in balancing deep, healing work with practical real-life change. Our therapists draw from various theoretical orientations such as psychodynamic, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and narrative therapies in order to help our clients gain a deeper understanding of the issue at hand. With depth work as the foundation, our therapists creatively implement many evidenced-based interventions such as mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal (IPT) therapy, providing our clients with tools to use outside of the office and between appointments.
Our therapists recognize the importance of their own personal journey of self-awareness and growth. They are committed to a regular practice of self-care, supportive community, collaboration with other professionals, and living a healthy lifestyle. Our serene environment incorporates elements that reflect airy freshness and grounded comfort, creating an ideal space for healing and growth.

We are not contracted with any insurance companies. However, we do offer superbills (receipts) by request that you can submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider and inquire about “out-of-network” coverage.

Our sessions are between $150-275 depending on the level of education and experience of the clinician and the service(s) you are looking for.

We highly recommend in-person therapy. However, for some clients and also for some presenting issues, in-person therapy is not possible and online therapy might be more appropriate. To determine if online versus in-person therapy is recommended for you, we encourage you to set up a phone consultation.

The frequency of sessions and length of treatment really do depend on the presenting concerns, the client, and of course logistics of what is possible for schedule and finances. However, the general recommendation is to start with weekly sessions for the first 6-8 weeks and to then evaluate your progress to determine if reducing (or in some cases increasing) the frequency might be appropriate. This is a great ongoing conversation that we encourage between you and your therapist!

Typically the first session focuses on reviewing the new client paperwork, answering your questions and diving deeper into you, your background and what is bringing you to therapy. The first session is also a great opportunity for you and your therapist to collaborate to come up with treatment goals and the approach that will work best for you.
